Karl Sobylak

As a Senior Product Manager at Lighthouse, Karl is responsible for the innovation, development, and deployment of cutting-edge big data analytics-based products that create better and more optimized legal outcomes for our clients, including the reduction of cost and risk. After graduating from SUNY Albany with a B.S. in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics in 2003, Karl joined a start-up ediscovery services company where he learned everything he could about the legal space including operations, development, services, and strategy. With more than 16 years of expertise in the legal industry, creating data-centric solutions, and applying risk mitigation tactics, Karl possesses a strong background that has allowed him to help reduce legal costs, improve precision and recall rates, and gain favorable legal results.

Erika Namnath

Executive Director, Global Advisory Services, Lighthouse

Erika is an industry expert with over 13 years of experience leading legal services, operations, and consulting projects for law firms and corporations. She has a proven track record in building and growing teams supporting ediscovery, investigation, and compliance functions as well as leads the team focusing on client technology and business workflow within the Enterprise Technology division of Lighthouse’s Global Advisory Services business.

Her specialties within the broader Advisory Services team include:

  • Responsive review expertise with respect to building efficient review workflows; leveraging analytics and automation tools; setting up quality control protocols and procedures; defining production criteria and requirements; and ensuring complete, accurate, and timely productions.
  • Expert search, development, testing, and validation of linguistic models, as well as the execution of those models across the larger data population.
  • Designing and implementing strategies for data organization, retrieval, and processing, including workflow.
  • Addressing business challenges with data remediation.

Mo Ramsey

General Manager, Global Advisory Services, Lighthouse

As General Manager of Lighthouse’s Global Advisory Services, Mo is responsible for expanding the business to address new market opportunities, as well as oversee the success of client engagements. Mo’s deep expertise surrounding advanced cloud infrastructure and services, enterprise security, and ediscovery perfectly situates him to lead Lighthouse’s consulting organization. He brings over 25 years of experience in leading and growing businesses through people, technology, and processes within multiple verticals to his role at Lighthouse.

Before Lighthouse, Mo was the senior director of customer success for CenturyLink, where he was responsible for end-to-end development and the leadership of the customer success team. In addition, he developed and grew different branches of the team, launched a successful customer communications plan, and drove larger organizational goals to completion. Prior to CenturyLink, Mo led various consulting practices at Slalom Consulting, where most recently he developed and managed a national consulting practices focused on business strategy, advanced infrastructure and related technologies. He consulted clients’ C-suite and advisories on various fundamental business needs, to include CIO/CTO services.

Mo holds a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College.

Chris Hurlebaus

eDiscovery Architect, Lighthouse

Bringing 20 years of information governance and ediscovery experience to the table, Hurlebaus works together with Microsoft directly with their clients to educate them on Microsoft Office 365 and ediscovery best practices in order to provide more efficient and cost-driven ways to govern electronic data. This education includes training corporations on how they can be more risk adverse using Microsoft Office 365 Advanced Discovery and Compliance Center and to build awareness by working in conjunction with the latest directives of the GDPR (General Data Privacy Regulation) and the new FRCPs (Federal Rules of Civil Procedure). This enables Lighthouse and Microsoft's clients to keep ahead of the industry and cloud requirements and as a result to achieve the greatest level of value-add at the lowest cost.

Alex Shusterman

eDiscovery Manager, Accenture

Alex is an in-house eDiscovery manager at Accenture, a global professional services company, providing a broad range of service and solutions strategy, consulting, digital, technology, and operations. His primary responsibilities include day-to-day management of ediscovery activities for litigation and corporate investigation matters globally. Alex is also Accenture eDiscovery's technical SME, managing the evaluation, process mapping, and implementation of eDiscovery Technology at Accenture. His focus includes the creation of an Information Governance program at Accenture along with deployment of Office 365 Advanced Compliance capabilities including Advanced eDiscovery.

Prior to Accenture, Alex worked as a Senior Consultant for an ediscovery services provider. His practice there focused on enterprise ediscovery program development and maturation efforts. This included working with corporate clients to perform ediscovery readiness assessments, develop ediscovery response plans, select and implement ediscovery technology, and develop their staff operational plans both within Legal and IT functions. He also lead information governance related engagements, with specialization in defensible legacy data archive migration and remediation.

Alex earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his JD from Duquesne University School of Law. He is a licensed Pennsylvania Attorney.

David Arlington

Special Counsel, Baker Botts

David Arlington is a Special Counsel in the firm’s litigation department and leads the department’s Disputes Technology & Services practice group. 

Mr. Arlington handles a wide variety of commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts in Texas and across the United States. He represents clients in cases involving financial fraud, securities fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, mass torts, and a variety of other commercial disputes.  He also routinely handles appellate matters in state and federal courts.

Mr. Arlington is also experienced in managing large discovery efforts in domestic and cross-border matters, advising clients in the identification, preservation, review, and production of electronically stored information and in litigating disputes relating to electronic discovery issues. He also consults with clients regarding the development and implementation of records management programs and discovery response plans.

As leader of the Disputes Technology & Services practice group, Mr. Arlington leads a group of professionals who deliver client services in support of the entire litigation lifecycle with an emphasis on innovations in technology, staffing, and process improvement. The practice group includes eDiscovery Counsel, staff lawyers, paralegals, litigation support coordinators, and trial graphics and presentation consultants. He also manages the firm’s ediscovery service offering and is responsible for identifying, testing, and implementing new technologies to better serve the firm’s clients.
